Kenes (Kenges) Rakishev is an investor, entrepreneur and one of the most well-known businesspeople in Kazakhstan.

Fincraft Holdings is Kenes’s asset management business and the vehicle through which he has invested in Petropavlovsk PLC, the FTSE-listed gold miner.


Kenes’s other investment in metals and mining is Fincraft Resources JSC, where he is Chairman of the Board, and he was co-owner of Central Asia Metals until successfully exiting the investment in early 2018.


Kenes makes venture capital investments in the technology space through his Singulariteam-1 and Singulariteam-2 funds. At the end of 2017, Kenes’s blockchain consumer electronics company, Sirin Labs, raised more than US$157 million through an initial coin offering (ICO). To date, this is the 5th largest ICO in the world. Sirin Labs has developed the world’s first mass-market blockchain smartphone, the ‘Finney’.
