On April 20, 2014, the Southern Capital of our Republic hosted the third Almaty Marathon that is international.  Marathon goals are:

•   Propagate healthy lifestyle and sport values among Almaty population;

•   Support young and talented sportsmen – the future of the Kazakhstani sport;

•   Popularize concept of corporate social responsibility to the city and its ecology among residents and major companies;

•   Support republican level charity projects.

Let us remind you that the funds raised through by hosts through the marathon will be spent on surgeries for two children that suffer from tumors in retina and brain.

Following the lead of Paris, Vein and Sao-Paolo, Almaty turned into a word capital of running for one day.  People from Great Britain, Turkey, Litva, Sweden, Russia and Southern Korea have come to Kazakhstan to take part in the marathon. Marathon assumed running distances of 3, 10, 21 kilometer and 42 kilometer 195 meters. The marathon kicked off from the First President Park, Al-Farabi avenue. And the finish line was in the Central Stadium.  About 10 000 started at the start line.  Our staff, Dilmurat Rakhmatullayev and Gulnara Suleimenova joined the marathon.

On April 21 Almaty Marathon presented a 10 000 000 tenge voucher to the DOM charity fund, which supervises treatment of the little Darina Lik and Artyom Kuznetsov.
